‘Bournville Musical Theatre Company’ which was formerly known as ‘Bournville Musical Society’ (Light Opera Section) 1922 - 2012
They were affiliated to Cadburys and their venue was the 750 seat concert hall in the heart of Cadburys. Many employees from Cadburys have trod the boards at the concert hall, and shows such as The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly were successfully staged there. Over the years Cadburys decided that the concert hall could no longer be used for performances by the BMTC, and with regret, our last production was Anything Goes in 2000.
We moved to The Old Rep in Station Street in Birmingham City Centre for our London to New York show in 2001, followed by South Pacific in 2002 and our last production at the Old Rep was Cabaret in 2003.
Due to increased audience sizes and facilities offered by the Crescent Theatre, we moved to this venue in Sheepcote Street for our sell out production of Carousel in February 2004, and have continued to perform here ever since.
